Undergraduate deadlines

Fall 2026 application deadlines

Students applying for undergraduate admission to VCU for fall 2026 must apply by Aug. 11, 2026. Fall 2026 applications will then close.

2027 application open dates

Applications for undergraduate students who would like to apply for the spring or fall 2027 terms at VCU will open as follows:

• Aug. 1, 2026: First-year Common App
• Aug. 17, 2026: Transfer application
• Aug. 28, 2026: Readmission and reactivation applications

Spring 2027 application deadline

• Nov. 1, 2026: First-year, transfer and readmission application deadline

Fall 2027 application deadlines

First-year application deadlines

• Nov. 1, 2026: First-year scholarship deadline
  
  • All incoming first-year students who apply to VCU by Nov. 1 are considered for university-level scholarships.
    
    
• Jan. 15, 2027:
  • First-year regular decision application deadline
    
    • Applicants who submit their application and all necessary materials by the first-year regular decision deadline of Jan. 15 are guaranteed a decision by April 1. 
  • Guaranteed University Admission deadline
    • VCU offers guaranteed university admission to most programs for first-year applicants who have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher. Please note, the School of the Arts has major-specific requirements and applicants are not eligible for Guaranteed University Admission. 

Transfer application deadline

• March 15, 2027: Transfer deadline
  
  • Transfer applicants who submit their application and all necessary application materials by March 15 are guaranteed a decision by May 1.

Readmission deadline

• March 15, 2027: Readmission deadline

Fall 2027 response deadlines

First-year students: Respond by May 1 if you were accepted to the university by April 1. If accepted after April 1, respond within two weeks of your acceptance.

Transfer students: Respond by June 1 if you were accepted to the university by May 1. If accepted after May 1, respond within two weeks of your acceptance.
