Apply through the Common App and submit all required materials by VCU’s first-year application deadline, Jan. 15, 2027. There are no additional application materials for Guaranteed University Admission.

Are you a first-year applicant with a high school GPA of at least 3.5? If so, you qualify for VCU’s Guaranteed University Admission! 

VCU uses the weighted GPA, if shown on your high school transcript. 

VCU has three different guaranteed admissions programs for undergraduate students. They are:

• Guaranteed University Admission – First-year applicants who have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher qualify 
• Honors College Guaranteed Admission – Highly qualified students who are already admitted to the university and are interested in entering professional programs at a later date without competing via general admission
• Transfer guaranteed admission agreements – VCU has several transfer admission agreements with the Virginia Community College System and other two-year colleges
  
  • Transfer students are not eligible for Guaranteed University Admission 

Since the School of the Arts has additional application requirements, students interested in arts programs are not eligible for Guaranteed University Admission. You can learn more about the School of the Arts application requirements by visiting their website. 

Since you are automatically considered for Guaranteed University Admission when you submit your Common App, there is no need to worry about not being accepted! If you do not meet the guaranteed admission criteria, your application will be reviewed on a holistic basis.
