Spring 2025 application deadlines

Jan. 6, 2025: First-year and transfer deadline

VCU is still accepting first-year and transfer applications for the spring 2025 semester. Submit your complete applications for spring 2025 by Jan. 6, 2025.

Fall 2025 application deadlines

Jan. 15, 2025: First-year regular decision deadline

VCU is accepting first-year applications for the fall 2025 semester. Applicants who submit their application and all necessary application materials by Jan. 15 are guaranteed a decision by April 1. 

March 17, 2025: Transfer regular decision deadline; readmission preferred deadline

VCU is accepting transfer applications for the fall 2025 semester. Transfer applicants who submit their application and all necessary application materials by March 17 are guaranteed a decision by May 1.

Fall 2025 response deadlines

Students accepted for fall 2025: Respond by May 1 if you were accepted to the university by April 1. If accepted after April 1, respond within two weeks of your acceptance.

FAFSA/VASA priority deadline

March 1, 2025

Submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) designating VCU (school code 003735) to determine your eligibility for financial aid. The 2025-2026 FAFSA is now open and the priority deadline to file is March 1, 2025. The earlier you complete the FAFSA, the sooner VCU can consider you for financial aid to help support your education. If you miss the priority deadline, you should still apply because you may still be eligible for some types of assistance.  

Virginians who are not eligible to file the FAFSA or who have Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status may file the Virginia Alternative State Aid Application (VASA) by March 1, 2025, designating VCU (school code 003735) to determine your eligibility for state or institutional need-based aid (not federal financial aid). The VASA only allows one school code. If you completed the VASA with another code, email sfmc@vcu.edu.
